The wedding ring although is small, it carries significant meaning to both the wedding couple. By wearing on the
4th finger, which is also known as the ring finger, it symbolises that both party will be spending the rest of
their lives together.
Usually the ring will be make of metal. Depending on the cultures, different metals will be used. For the
Indians, they will prefer gold wedding rings. For Chinese and Westerners, they will prefer the white gold rings.
White gold ring is normally metallic or silver in colour. Some examples, will be platinum wedding rings and silver

Platinum rings are gaining in popularity for used as wedding rings. It is a precious metal and is much durable
than gold. As compared to another white metal, silver, platinum is much prettier than it. With it being more
precious than silver, had a better polished effect than silver and lasts much longer, it is an excellent choice for
many couples to choose platinum as their wedding ring to symbolise ever lasting love.
For most cultures, there will be 2 types of rings involved. The first ring will be called the proposal or
engagement ring. The guy will usually propose to the girl and by accepting the ring, the girl is engaged.
The second ring is called the wedding ring. Usually, the couples will shop and purchase from a shop together.
For the proposal ring in the paragraph above, usually the guy will buy it alone in order to give surprise to the
other party.
Wedding rings can be of different colors and designs depending on the culture of the couple. Nowadays, wedding
couples will opt for custom made ring, to symbolise that both of them are only made for each other and no one in
the world.
Most wedding rings have diamonds on them and the size of the diamonds are measured in terms of carats.

Usually when purchasing wedding rings, try to purchase in standard formats, such as 1 carat or 0.5 carat as
the jeweler will round up to the full standard carat weight. If you were to purchase a 0.4 carat or 0.45 carat
ring, the jeweler will usually price it at 0.5 carat pricing, which means you spend more money.
In shopping for the wedding ring, the couple should first look for the design they wanted, they should take
their time and not stress themselves over a short deadline to get the ring. The wedding ring will need to feel
"right" to both parties and they should not have any regrets purchasing the rings.
Another important consideration for wedding couples while choosing their wedding rings will be the ring size.
The couple should not, and i say again, should not buy the ring with only 1 try.
Instead, the ring should be sized over several times over a few weeks as finger sizes changes according to
different factors such as the time and day and even the weather!
Some efforts should be needed to push the ring over the finger joint. However, once pushed, the ring should sit
comfortably and should not be too tight.
Choosing a perfect wedding ring is not easy as it is a ring that is to be worn for life. Thus great efforts and
considerations must be set to hunt for the rings which both couple will cherish forever.
